ABOUT MASSAGES

Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are dozens of types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities).

People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons – to reduce stress and anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, and promote overall health and wellness.

MASSAGES

A traditional full body massage using firm pressure to encourage circulation. Strong gliding strokes and stimulating movements help soothe tired aching muscles to leave you energised and revived. Great for overall relaxation. Uses long effleurage strokes and gentle pressure to improve circulation and diminish stress. Perfect for “First Timers.”

Aromatherapy massage is for anybody who feels muscle tension and wants somebody to work on tight areas, but must importantly just wants to relax. Your therapist will mix a blend aromatherapy oils that are suited with your emotional needs and perform a relaxing full body massage. Massage is not painful, it does not focus only on the tension areas and it creates a general feeling of well-being.

The effect of classical massage on the skin, hypodermic tissue and muscles depends on the methods used – it can be either relaxing or invigorating. Massage improves the blood circulation of the tissues and advances metabolism. Massage is used in case of muscular tension, sleep disorders and also for the relieving of stress. A skilful massage provides a feeling of relaxation and wellness.

Pregnancy massage is meant for expecting mothers and is designed to alleviate specific pregnancy induced aches and swelling – swallen feet, achy back, nerve pain etc. Pregnancy massage increases of feelings of general wellbeing and makes your child expecting time perfect.

Relaxing massage relieves emotional stress and muscle tension, improves blood circulation and microcirculation.

This treatment includes application of oils or creams by massage movements to firm, nourish and moisturize the skin.

This non-invasive method lifts the skin, creates a skin fold, and causes a rush of fresh blood, oxygen, and nutrients to the surface of the skin. This also increases lymphatic circulation that drains away waste materials and products.

The primary goal of deep tissue massage is less about general relaxation and more about reducing pain and stiffness in the body, improving posture and flexibility by releasing chronically tight and shortened muscles and fascia. This is accomplished by applying a combination of slow compressive and lenghtening strokes to the involved musculature.

Additionally to hands, therapist may use fingertips, knuckles, forearms and elbows during the deep tissue work. Some of the same strokes are used as in classical (Swedish) massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. So it works also with the deeper muscles. Because of that people usually feel deep tissue massage much more beneficial.

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension and stiffness in the muscles and the connective tissue. It is particularly recommended for individuals who experience chronic pain, limited mobility, postural problems, are involved in heavy physical activity and clients who have sports injuries or any other kind of sustained physical injuries.

Pressotherapy is a medical and beauty treatment that promotes lymphatic drainage by using air pressure on different parts of the body. By alternating between compression and decompression, it effectively stimulates the lymphatic system.

Benefits of pressotherapy

You can enjoy many positive health and beauty benefits from applying pressure waves. You will see improvements to circulatory system disorders and venous issues like varicose veins, tired legs and heavy limbs.

If you are thinking about getting fit and losing weight, this type of treatment may be for you. By combining pressotherapy, diet and exercise, you will see better results in less time. You can also treat swelling or drain the toxins, fats and liquids that cause cellulite. You will recover skin elasticity, increasing oxygen flow to the body’s tissues and helping them regenerate.

Your hands will be dipped several times quickly into a small tub of heated paraffin wax. After several layers are added, the wax will be covered in a plastic bag and you can relax by getting relaxing shoulder massage from our qualified massage therapist. The wax will trap the heat against your skin as it hardens, opening the pores. Once the wax is completely cooled it will be pulled away, taking dead skin cells along with it.

FAQ

The average full-body massage treatment lasts approximately one hour. A half-hour appointment only allows time for a partial massage session, such as neck and shoulders, back or legs and feet.

Make yourself comfortable. If your therapist wants you to adjust your position, she/he will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable.

“Some is better than none.”
What does that mean? Well, it varies from person to person. If you are just looking for some occasional relaxation, then a session every 3-6 weeks may be fine for you.
However, if you are looking to address a specific condition, then it is recommended to go more frequently at first and then slowly taper down to a maintenance schedule.

Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience a significant decrease or freedom from long-term aches and pains. Many feel a little slowed down for a short period and then notice an increase of energy, heightened awareness and increased productivity which can last for days.

Honestly, its hard to say. Every person is unique and every condition is unique to each person.
