A highly talented, skilled holistic massage therapist and an exceptional, experienced Yoga teacher.
She is a massage therapist and Hatha yoga teacher registered in Yoga Alliance and Fedaration of Holistic Therapists. She is also professor (PhD) of psychology.
Laima’s interest in yoga came through her psychology studies and later psychology teaching at university. Whilst teaching her students self-control and emotional management, she noticed that modern psychology does not give all the answers. Therefore, she began to seek wisdom in more than 3000 years of experience-based science – Yoga and Ayurveda.
She has been able to take the 30 years of influences of many teachings, rituals and traditions and apply them into her yoga practice. She has a keen interest in Ayrveda Therapy, Meditation, Rebirthing, Breathing and Sound Healing. Sound healing with singing Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, Shamanic drums and koshi bells is always incorporated at the end of the yoga lessons in order to make the client’s bodies more relaxed after activities in asanas.
She believes in the power of balancing mind and body as the key to alleviating pain, tension, stress and psychosomatic disorders. Drawing on her knowledge and a range of techniques, Laima uses an integrative approach, tailoring each treatment to the individual’s needs.
She says: “As massage therapist, I‘d like to put people in touch through the touch”. She offers a range of therapies including Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Massage Therapy, Ayurvedic Body Massage (Abyanga), Indian Head Massage, Ayrvedic Foot Massage (Padabyanga), Anti-ageing Facelift massage and Sports massage.
During her yoga classes Laima Maya encourages her clients to deepen their personal practice and invites them to take the work off their mat into their life to expand, heal and grow. Her goal is to gently guide each client to the path of awareness and personal growth. She encourages every client to accompany this wonderful journey of self-knowledge.
